KUALA LUMPUR – 13 October 2016: Members of the public are invited to creatively present the LRT3 project in graphics form in the “Painting the Rail Future” art contest which will run until 13 December 2016.

Winning entries will be featured on hoardings and other LRT3-related promotional material with credit given to the original artists.

“We wish to encourage members of the public to be part of the urban rail transformation initiatives and showcase their talents in presenting the LRT3 project graphically in the most creative manner,” said LRT3 Project Director Datin Norlia Noah of Prasarana Malaysia Berhad.

The contest is opened to four categories of participants, namely primary school students between 7 and 12 years old; secondary school students between 13 and 17 years old; university students; and an open category, with prizes up to RM3,000 cash.

A panel of judges will select a winner and 2 runners up from each category. The judging panel will consist of a representative from Prasarana as well as notable personalities in the creative space.

All submissions are limited to water colours, crayon, colour pencil and computer graphics methods only. Winners will be selected on the basis of:
a. Interpretation and the clarity of the theme to the viewer.
b. Creativity and originality of the depicted theme.
c. Quality of artistic composition and overall design based on the theme.
d. Overall impression of the art.

The 37km LRT3 project which traverses 26 stations will enhance the connectivity and mobility of some two million people living and working between Bandar Utama in Petaling Jaya and Johan Setia in Klang.
